Rook was designed for the Rook perfumes creator himself, and it took some persuasion to share. With a huge puff of smoky firewood and birch tar, the opening is powerful and phenolic. The leathery animalic notes contrast with a soapy accord at its center, giving it a dirty/clean vibe. The base is woody and dark, with a warm incense accord and a recollection of the smoke that began the voyage.
Birch-tar, tobacco, castoreum, cardamom, ginger, civet, agarwood, incense, ambrette, ambergris, guaiac wood, and musk are among the notes.
