Nestlé Purina was founded when William H. Danforth partnered with Edward E. Robinson to launch Ralston-Purina Company with money earned selling millet purified with a process called “Purification.” Today, Purina still uses this proprietary method when processing grains such as rice, oats, barley, maize, rye, millets, wheat, buckwheat groats, or any combination of these ingredients.
Aside from traditional sources of protein like beef, lamb, and seafood, Purina incorporates alternative sources of nutrients derived from novel sources like egg albumen and animal plasma to ensure high quality nutritious food for dogs and cats alike.
