Born in France, Jean Paul Gaultier made waves within the fashion industry as a designer with a unique vision, earning him the moniker 'enfant terrible'. Renowned for daring designs infused with elements like corsets, marine stripes, and even tin cans; he started his namesake brand in 1982 which later flourished with a range of fragrances since 1993 under licensee Puig. From thereon he headed Hermès as creative lead for seven years till 2010 after which he bid adieu to catwalk presentations. Several celebrities like Madonna, Kylie Minogue, Rihanna are amongst those graced by his garments along with collaboration with labels such as Supreme, Thierry Mugler and Converse. In early 2020, he closed his couture division concluding a half century journey atop Parisian runways.
